Cooled heat flux transducers - CHF Series

Download the technical datasheet:
CHF sensors are liquid-cooled by an internal heat exchanger fed by a remote thermostatic circulating bath (thermocryostat) connected by two insulated flexible hoses. Internal exchanger allows the backside of the sensor to be perfectly maintained at a set-point temperature, even for the most elevated heat flux (>10MW/m²). CHF sensors are equipped with fast connectors for easy dismounting of the cooling circuit
Product details
CHF heat flux sensors are designed for measuring medium (a few tens of kW/m²) to high (several MW/m²) heat fluxes over extended periods, including continuous monitoring. Complementary to the IHF Series, CHF heat flux probes feature an optimized cooling system integrated into the sensor body. With their robust design, like their IHF counterparts, CHF sensors can be used in the harshest environments. They are available in radiative, convective, and total heat flux versions.
CHF heat flow meters are characterized by their ability to provide continuous and instantaneous heat flux measurements, up to several MW/m². They are an ideal option for industrial thermal monitoring, as well as in applications where IHF Series heat flow meters reach their capacity limits (see the IHF Series documentation for more information).
Four full-scale flux ranges are available: 250, 500, 1,000, and 10,000 kW/m² (or 10 MW/m²).
CHF sensors are available as total, radiative, or convective heat flux meters. In the convective version, the sensor element is coated with a reflective surface treatment (emissivity > 0.90), which is itself characterized spectrally. In the total version, the sensor element is similar to the radiative version but is directly exposed to the external environment to capture the combined convective-radiative heat transfer. If convection can be neglected in your application, this version can be considered a wide-angle radiometer.
CHF Series heat flux transducers are available in two standard mechanical configurations (threaded and flange mounted), but Nextherm can provide tailor designed units.
