The Art of Calibration

A unique calibration approach

LASCAL Laser Calibration Bench

NexTherm Sensing masters a unique calibration approach, based on laser exposure. Our system is a  fiber diode laser  with a maximum power of 530 Watt, generating an infrared beam at 1070 nanometers.

Its beam diameter is 10mm (collimated) and can be expanded up to 40mm with a diverging lens, allowing uniform heating to be applied thanks to the use of a beamshaper. Maximal heat flux density is around 2.5 MW/m².

It is also possible to carry out dynamic characterizations by inserting a rotary chopper on the optical path of the laser, with a frequency that can reach up to 4kHz. this means makes it possible to determine the response times of the sensors but also to estimate the reproducibility of repeated measurements.

Vacuum Chamber

We have specific means to carry out more precise vacuum calibrations (neutralization of parasitic natural convection), such as the CVF vacuum chamber, fitted with an anti-reflective treated germanium porthole, with high transmittance at 1070 nanometers.
